Whoops, I'm sorry I didn't drink the Granite City Kool-aid and wear the rose colored glasses, so that I could join the I love everything GC does group, too!
LOL! No Kool Aid here either Rose. I'm just intelligent enough to know that government grants are given to cities and cities have a certain amount of time to spend the funds.
I'm intelligent enough to know that the overpass has to be fixed. To fix it you have to shut it down. No matter when you do the work, crossing will be effected. However, since those tracks all run the same way, nothing could have fixed your issue no matter what was closed and what was not.
Do I live in West Granite? Hell no. I was intelligent enough to buy a home where I didn't have to deal with tracks. (okay that was a joke)
You can vent but your offering of how you would have changed the schedule still wouldn't have kept crossing from being blocked.
Two years ago they closed Stratford Lane. Traffic was diverted down West Moreland for months. But you know what? Now it's better.
You can't make an omellete without breaking a few eggs Rose. It will all work out. Trust me.
