The one I worked at was called Graphic Links. It was a printing company in Fenton. Later, we merged with a national printing company called Cenveo in Sunset Hills. At Graphic Links, I was getting in trouble a few times for being late due to trains, or accidents driving in from GC. So, to compensate, I left much earlier. When there were delays, I made it on time. However, if it was clear, sometimes I got there 30 - 40 minutes early. I didn't think it was a big deal, as I had a desk job with a computer and would quietly read news or whatever on the internet until it was time to clock in. After a few times, they called me into the office again and told me they did not want me in the building any earlier than 5-10 minutes before my shift. Apparently, in printing and graphics, this is standard. The girl that would go to Bread Company worked for Opti-something, which was another graphics/printing position. And talking with the guy who later became my boss (who was the one that I liked and worked with me to start at 9am), he had a job exactly like the girl's. GL didn't make you clock in, but you worked at the desk next to the boss, and so you had to make sure your watch matched their clock.
