Since this is a state-funded project, I want to know exactly who you guys are hedging the blame on? You keep referring to "they." Who is "they?" And as for the railroad companies, they absolutely hate at-grade crossings because they are a safety hazard and a maintenance / insurance inconvenience. Do I agree with the city selling out for a subsidy? No, but I do agree that we cannot have higher speed trains running on at-grade crossings. Although we aren't getting true high speed rail. You'll still have to head Northeast or to Europe to see that spectacle
