So in taking your analogy, if WE (that is the working class of this country) paid teachers $100,000 + then our education system would be THE best in the world and we would turn out better students as a whole?! Now what if those $100,000 + teachers don't get results? What then? Pay them more? Will that have them get better results? Hmmmm! You know as well as ANYONE does that just because you may have the highest degree that this country can give you doesn't mean that you can TEACH! I've had teachers that knew full well the subject but could not convey it to save themselves. I'd rather have a $50,000 a year teacher that can actually get through to the students in whatever creative ways they know how than some stiff shirt $100,000 + know it all that leaves kids clueless. Don't say that you haven't seen it because most anyone has! So then, what's the answer? I say make them accountable to achieve a certain standard and results and THEN and only then would their pay be increased accordingly. There has to be a system of checks and balances before you just start throwing money at a problem which is what this country has been doing for years and it's gotten us nowhere. Actually it has but in the wrong direction!
