Imagine if THAT WAS circulated to our education?? i agree... we both know that i pick on the military, but i agree that we could make cuts elsewhere... i just feel like education should be the LAST thing we cut - not only does it hurt jobs in the present and make the job even more difficult for the over-worked and under-paid teachers... but above all else it robs us in the future...of human capital, of highly educated and skilled youth entering the work-force. i agree with you - not just the military but all "government waste"... on a side note - it is hard to measure govt. waste - because what might seem a waste to you could be a life saver to someone else. i mean - 3 billion in wasteful government spending is chump change compared to the 3 TRILLION we spent rebuilding iraq... imagine if we had rebuilt america instead with that 3 trillion - every child in this country could have a lap-top computer and internet access...and who knows what else.
