one of the comments left by a teacher - her words were perfect... "Doubling a class from 30 kids to 60 kids is not "a few children." It is a mob. If a teacher teaches 5 classes each day that is 300 children. A bit of a skewed analogy, but considering this on numbers alone - how many employers have three hundred employees but have no support staff? Not many. What if one quarter of those "employees" did not want to be there and another quarter had special needs? This does not serve children well at all. Say goodbye to group projects and rigorous writing assignments (they take too long to grade with these numbers). I realize that money is tight but I can't imagine anyone advocating packing 60 kids into a classroom built for 30."
