I can't see anyone who illegally taps the resources paid for by taxpayers for years on end, generation after generation, waking up one day having an epiphany that not only they, but their parents, grandparents, aunt, uncles, daughters and sons who have made a lifestyle of collectiong welfare, should become gainfully employed and start giving back, it just ain't gonna happen.
i have seen it - albeit not too often.
it is what i try to do on a daily basis - help these kids try to wake up - to snap the spell of generational poverty. i make them start dreaming about college or what they want from their life. i take them out of the hood and get their mind off the hood for a while - i show them what hard work can do - maybe something their parents never did.
i think the difference, well one of many at least, is that i have hope and am willing to try.
