I think everyone saying welfare needs to be abolished need to live a few days in the shoes of a very poor person. Try to find a job when you have no phone for them to call you back. On the app when it ask if you have reliable transportation and all you have are your feet because you don't have the money for even a bus, see how willing they are to hire you. Feel the stress and fear that must come from not being able to get your head above water. Not having the money for laundry soap or dish soap, shampoo or toilet tissue. At least you can feed your kids with your LINK card. Live like that and try to get above water, then see what you have to say about it. Are there junkies and whores on welfare, yes of course. Those people are more likely to need welfare, but not all or even most people on welfare fit that category.
