and those receiving aid from the government are consumers. Consumers spend money in stores, which pays the bills of the people who own those stores.
by giving money to people who would otherwise not have much - you add consumerism and therefore social welfare MORE THAN PAYS FOR ITSELF as well.
This is total b/s. Income redistribution does not create wealth. If the Government takes $10 from me and gives $2 to Joe X, he in turn spends his $2 with a business does that create wealth? No, it removes $8 from the economy and simply moves the $2 that Joe spends from one taxpayer to another. It is just a shell game with the Government as the dealer that keeps the lion's share.
