Ok and no one ever has unforseen circumstances correct? I don't think single or married people with no kids, no disabilities should be able to get welfare. Medical yes. Anything else no. A single person can make it just fine with a low paying job
Single or married people with no children are not eligible for welfare. And NO, not even for medicaid.
Only a person on SSDI or SSI can get on Medicaid or Medicare without having children.
And believe you me, I have had many unforseeable circumstances than landed me without a job and low on resources, but I made it through without any assistance from our government. NONE
That's when you dont' have a cell phone, no cable television, no internet service, no entertainment expenses, you dress your children and do without for yourself. You cook cheap meals and stretch your food, turn off lights, lower the thermostat.... you don't fill your fridge with beer and feed your kids bologna on white bread, you don't get tattos or go to the nail salon with cigarettes in your purse and cry you can't afford Tylenol for your children while sucking down your Big Gulp from 7-11....you do everything possible to keep your home and vehicle, feed your children until you find another job.
And you sure the hell don't wait around for five years until monetary benefits from the government run out before you start clawing your way back.
