That’s not very nice Kevin. I know how to time an engine and I had to think what you meant by “overlap” for a second simply because its not a term I have ever used in this context. Rocking is the more common term where I come from. Martin, he is referring to the valves rocking on number four when number one is at tdc. If you think about this timing issue Martin, it drove in and now won’t turn over so you must have timed the new belt wrong. It could be the wrong belt or the marks could be wrong or maybe you used the belt marks in the wrong order. You need to physically check the tdc position rather than just accept that the keyway should be at 12oc. I have no idea what system this is but once you have the cam and crank right then you need to time the pump as per spec. Only after this can you move on with the job.
