Give me one good example of a working-class neighborhood with a high rental percentage that doesn't suffer from high crime. Just one.
I'm not implicating you or claiming you are unfit in any way to live anywhere you please. I was characterizing the seemingly true stereotype of downtrodden communities that are plagued by low levels of home-ownership.
Ultimately, if this town falls it will be due to so-called "diversity."
"Diversity" hasn't done a single good thing for any neighborhood in the StL metro.
And then...
"we don't want to buy in GC because of the deteriorating school system and rise in drugs and violence."
Really? Post the stats. I don't care about personal notion. Violence / crime seems pretty low and the last time I checked, the schools had quite the sufficient proportion of advanced academic programs and still produce quality students.
