Redsnake, thanks. I have a cousin right now who is trouble with the law. He isn't on drugs right now, but has had issues in the past. He has been in jail most of his adult life, and actually got hooked on meth while in prison because he was pressured by other inmates. Part of the problem is that he didn't get diagnosed with bipolar and mild schizophrenia until a few years ago. With past history, and people not knowing the whole story, they are ready to just write him off as a waste of a human life. The news had several "facts" incorrect and because of the way he looked, and having a criminal record people just made blatant assumptions and judgments. Comments on the news story were horrible. Nobody really understands until they have been through it.
I support him, regardless of the bad choices he made because I know he is a good person. He has struggled in life, but that doesn't make me love him any less. In fact, despite his troubles, I admire him for even trying, he has been through hell and back, and is in his own personal hell right now, yet he still tries to be positive. And, through his troubles, it doesn't make me or the rest of his family love him any less.
That's what I wish people would realize when they make comments about somebody that did this or that. It doesn't mean the person was all bad, and they totally disregard the family when saying those things. Love is not logical. We love in spite of faults, otherwise, it's not really love.
