Like someone else said (sorry forgot who and I'm not reading back through all the posts LOL). I commend the kid and the people who stood up with him, and awareness is one step to helping, but it can't be the ONLY step. I totally support a protest, but, instead of just saying "they" need to do something, have some ideas put down on paper. Give suggestions on how to help.
Yes, I agree that all they had to do was say no, but for whatever reasons they are obviously not. Whether it's peer pressure or what, once they start, stopping is next to impossible without help. So, on that side, I do understand that it isn't black and white on just "stopping". But you can't expect the government just to do something, without giving them more ideas to solutions to help and ways to implement those solutions. THAT's the problem I had with the people doing the protest. They weren't offering any solutions, just that the government and the DEA needed to "do more."
Hope that made sense, I'm didn't get much sleep last night, so I'm about half asleep while typing this LOL.
