The entire downtown area is being revitalized as an "Arts and Entertainment" area.
You can pretty much count on more establishments that will be serving alcohol.
And if you think that Stopkotte's Skating Rink and the minimal amount of business they do should be taken into consideration as to whether or not a liquor license is granted to the pool hall, you are living in another world.
I don't think the owner of the pool hall is marketing to sixteen year old girls, but for a more lucrative crowd, of grown, money spending adults who play pool as a team sport on a weekly basis.
He's a business man, not a babysitter. And your sideways, back-door jabs about his poker machines is comical. NO one with half a brain believes coin operated video games make money, hell, a kid can do more now on their cell phones than any arcade can keep up with.
I'm all for this man getting a liquor license, and honestly, if I were him, I'd be down right pissed off knowing full well they will be passing them out right and left if potential businesses in that area request them as a deal maker when deciding to open up downtown.
After all, he's been there for twenty years, and that's a major commitment considering how things have been left to fall apart down there.
AND the AUDACITY of your suggestion that he just plop another fifty or sixty thousand dollars of his own money down for a new location?
Is this something you could do?
If so, open up something for you kids to do.
If not...you're nuts for suggesting someone else should.
