The only thing working people have to bargain with is the ability to with hold their labor.
Again, only in a union setting.
Illinois is a "right to work" state which means, you can hired and fired for no reasons whatsoever.
You could be the best employee a company has ever seen, and you could be terminated because the boss was having chitty day. Nothing you could do about it.
The exact opposite holds true for union employees, they can be the worst worker a company has ever seen and the union will crawl buck naked over broken glass to keep that worker from being fired and are successful at it.
And oh, can you tell me how to get someone's address off the internet when they post on a message board? That sounds pretty interesting.
