I don't worry about the educational quality of our local district. The NCLB standards are political BS. My niece graduated two years ago and over forty kids in that class had GPA's of over 4.5. That's success. Screw the standardized test.
I worry about how this district will survie if money from the state continues to be held. How do they buy books? How do they pay the staff? The answer, raise local taxes. It's going to take experienced, mature people not a young man who thinks it's important to rehash the dress code. That ship sailed. Does he not see that even if elected, there are at least three board members who are still there that were there when the code passed? Mr. Waters was, by what I've read, a strong disciplinarian who would support the code. Mrs. Yates and Hagnauer, same deal.
The dress code is here Mr. Winegarter and it is not a huge issue in the big picture. Nor is an endorsement from the former superintendent. Tell me how you're going to fix the budget. Then I'll pay you more heed.
