I was of course referring to a four pot in my previous post.  

As Mike says, with IDS we don't really need to be concerned about injector numbers. I just concentrate on the cylinder that I have issue with & take the code from the injector fitted to that cylinder. I don't care what number it is called, it is simply the injector that is fitted into that cylinder. IDS allows you to chose the cylinder to enter & that's enough.

As I said earlier, if you deal with one cylinder only (when dealing with a knock code) the light & DTC will clear if you do it correctly. Surely this is proof that the method is correct?

I can't comment further on your conundrum Dave, as it is really hard to take it all in on an crappy little iPhone.

Are you saying that, when you enter the codes taken from let's say, the injector fitted into cylinder 2. & enter it into cylinder 2 on IDS, that it doesn't display it in the correct location, after the process is complete?

Is it that you are thinking that the codes need to be entered in order? i.e. If a cylinder 3 knock code was present, you would need to code cylinder 1 beforehand? 

The more I think about this, I wonder why there is any need to mention the fact that injectors are coded in firing order & not cylinder order at all. You really don't need to consider what the injector number is. You may as well call them Tom Dick Harry & Fred as 123 & 4 it just don't matter.
