Cylinder 1 = injector 1 (first injector to fire in the 1342 sequence)


Cylinder 2 = injector 4 (fourth injector to fire in the 1342 sequence)


Cylinder 3 = injector 2 (second injector to fire in the 1342 sequence)


Cylinder 4 = injector 3 (third to fire in the 1342 sequence)

Simples!

It does screw with your brain, but IDS guides you through so well, you really don’t have to think so hard.

With other tools I suggest that one injector code is entered only (for the offending cylinder) & that way, you will know for certain that you have done it correctly. If you enter all cylinder/injector codes in one process, the DTC & warning light will clear & you won’t have a clue if you are correct. You can see the codes entered of course, (2003 vehicles onwards with injector driver module integral to PCM) but with some kit, it is less than clear about which code applies to which injector/cylinder.

If I went on "Who wants to be a millionaire" I reckon I would get a question on this topic & still screw it up
