I get all of your points, especially about parent responsibility and strongly agree with that one. I do take issue with comparing Rap to Shakespear and I don't like Shakespear, but it's sure not the same thing. I think it dumbs down children and allows our society to forget about the history of literature when reports come from references such as People magazine.
Maybe I am too old school, or fondly remember childhood better than it was, but I am not sure how learning about gang culture can be condusive to being a successful or logical thinking citizen.
My comments about the P.E. participation were also directed towards the constant and inconsistant interference in the government bodies trying to regulate our parenting. We do our best to teach our child learn at home about eating right and taking care of himself, we win some battles and lose some like everyone else, but if they are going to sit around or walk in circles I would rather the time be spent doing math, english, or history.
