Hair and underwear are two completely different things. Maybe, instead of debating whether or not underwear should actually be underwear, we should ask ourselves - why are our kids feeling the need to show the world exactly what their choice of thong/boxer is. I mean the very name, "underwear" suggests that it is to be worn "under" clothes.
I agree GCbilliardclub, it has lost it's shock value now, but whos fault is that except ours. Maybe it involves more than just a choice our kids are making to "shock" - maybe it involves something deeper - like many choices we as the parents and adults are making that we can no longer keep the blurriness of line crossing at bay.
Of course many disagree with my opinion and that is life, but I feel sorry for our kids when they feel the need to market themselves in such a manner. I feel just as sorry for us adults when we have to seek attention by wearing low cut blouses and the like. Sorry, but why else wear such things unless that is what we are seeking?
Trying to look attractive when I truly think leaving more to the imagination is way more attractive. Looks fade - the inner man/woman does not. I just think this is a way more important truth to live by than attempting to base ones validity or value on looks. Teaching kids this truth - way more beneficial to them in light of long term happiness and far less superficial.
