Hello Bradley, with regards to passing the mot, you shouldn't have a problem. The smoke test is the same for this as it for any diesel- be it an old escort van or a new merc. It could be failed for a "catalytic converter not fitted where it had one fitted as standard" or words to that effect but how is the tester to know. Even if there's a big square welded hole in the cat I'd have to pass it!
