hi Bradley the light has never come on since I blanked the egr, I purchased it on ebay very easy to fit as the holes are slotted so just loosen the valve and slide in, my car has done 78.000 miles I blanked it off about 2 years ago and no problems, just been to blackpool the weekend and the fuel moniter said it was doing 64mpg, my fan too runs for ages some times apparently its a common fault with fan relays sticking,ive never had the battery go flat so have left it
