How can we expect for anyone on the outside to see us is a positive way when we don't ourselves
No truer words were ever spoken. When I golf with my buddies who moved from here to "greener pastures", they always tell me I'm wasting my time and that I should sell while I can. I usually fight them but admittedly, I'm running out of steam.
Something has to be done to put us back on the map for developers. I remember a couple of years ago when Channel 2 did a morning show from GC. I was busting with pride as they showed places like our parks, our theaters, Mrs. Whitaker's place, etc... For weeks I felt we had gotten back in the batters box. Unfortunately we had John Fairy batting and there were two outs. I feel no better about this new kid.
Ms. Whitaker if you have any influence on the mayor or council, let them know that folks are growing weary and something needs to happen. Give us a lifeline.
My rants are over for now. This is my home. I will die here, be buried here and leave my kids my home to sell because they have lost all hope for our town.
