SO HAGNAUER, AMOS AND THE COUNCIL DON'T WANT RURAL KING IN GRANITE CITY?
Our Economic Developement Direct is Pastor James Amos. James Amos has done nothing for our city so far. Nothing. Why would he, the mayor and the city council not want an establishment like Rural King to open shop in our city? One has to ask how much the pastor's personal feelings about gun control are forcing him to keep the information regarding Rural King on the down low, and to personally ensure they never join the Granite City business community simply to serve his beliefs?
When the mayor was elected and sworn in, when the councilmen were elected and sworn in, did they not vow to do what was best for this city? What was best for it's residents? THEN WHAT IS THE PROBLEM?
Who doesn't want Rural King in Granite City? Why does our own elected administration along with someone paid to stimulate and generate economic growth in our town making it so hard for ANY BUSINESS, not just Rural King, to do business in Granite City.
The endless and nonsensical list of rules, regulations and ordinances that have been put into place have literally SQUASHED any potential business growth in this town!
Our city leaders sat back on their thumbs while the Crossroads Shopping Center broke ordinance after ordinance, allowing that center to become an enormous eyesore, an unchecked eyesore. The owners refused to address parking lot issues, lighting issues, leaking roof issues...and our city did nothing, all the while the rent for those store fronts kept rising. Ultimately we lost the Ace Hardware store, the Salvation Army resale store and Big Lots.
We now have a chance for a big box chain store to come to Granite City and they are being refused? I have had enough.
YOU SHOULD HAVE HAD ENOUGH! No more mayor, no more alderman, no more James Amos.
If you think these people are working for your best interest, think again. Look through these links at the agendas and minutes of the Economic Development meetings, look who is in attendance. Look through the council meeting minutes, do you see James Amos attending our Granite City Council Meetings, I don't.
THIS IS ALL A SHAM! They are doing NOTHING to attract businesses to this town other than coming up with some ridiculous "city brochure" and forming do-nothing committees.
Why at every Economic Development meeting do they go into "closed session", come out and adjourn? WHAT THE EVER LOVING HELL? Is this where they are being brainwashed by Amos to keep Rural King out of Granite City, because of his personal beliefs about guns, from his pastor's point of view?
I'm sick of it, we should all be sick of it. After all this time, the biggest idea we have to generate business in this town is a God damned cell phone tower? A cell phone tower and a brochure. All accomplished from the confines of Mr. Amos's living room, and force fed down the throats of our do-nothing aldermen who are nothing more than paid "yes men".
And these same morons are refusing a Rural King to operate in our town? Hundreds coming in daily to shop the store and do other business in our town?????? Increasing business for every other retailer / restaurant within the vicinity of their location?
Weeks and weeks of "negotiations" for salaries, YMCA making the historical register, a city brochure designed, and possibly a cell phone tower to generate revenue for the city. THIS IS PATHETIC!
EVERY FOUR YEARS WE VOTE THE SAME PEOPLE INTO THE SAME OFFICES AND END UP WITH THE SAME RESULTS!
WE MUST BE INSANE!

THROW A FIT! Insist that they approve Rural King's request to come to Granite City...put your foot down, RAISE YOUR VOICES!
