You know, I'm rethinking this one--if for no other reason than it gives some of our money back that goes "up the hill".
Collinsville and Edwardsville hate this idea because it will take money out of their pockets, but they also have the biggest retail areas where we all go.
Oops--I'm thinking like a Democrat, their money needs to be ours, lol!!! Except it really is.
Do I think it will go to the right place? No. But if it really does it goes to buildings--so if it really gets there, equals construction unions=local jobs. That's a good thing.
And, if it also has the possibility of giving us some property tax relief we should certainly give it a try, and take some burden off of the property owners.
So, at the risk of being wishy-washy when I said NO NEW TAXES, EVER, the more I read about this, the more I just might give it a yes vote.
It's going to hurt them a lot more than it's going to hurt us. We're a community that will benefit.
Opie, with other distractions that have been going on, I have not paid much more attention to this one than "NO!!"
