We have to look at the reality of what's going on.
Some of us would like to see the "administrative state fail" (sounds so "cool" doesn't it?), I get it. Thing is, is there is reality. Where it's much easier to say "let em fail" behind our computers, than it is to practice it.
In a perfect world, we could do that and they'd see the error of their ways and vote for different people....but they are not.
There are LOTS of people leaving Illinois...but, what about those kids left behind? THAT is what I am thinking about.
I came back here and am raising my family, and putting my kids through the school system. We have a GREAT school system, if you as a parent are involved like you should be.
But we also have a not so great state government..and "the calvary aint coming" as far as the dollars this 1% tax would raise (that can only be used for specific purposes (and you can review how it's working in counties already implemented by using your Googles)).
So what do we do?
In my view, seeing as how if there is any opportunity for property taxes to lower I'll take it AND MOST IMPORTANTLY because I recognize that it falls on our shoulders to try to offset our impotent state government , I am voting Yes for this.
