I think there are some assumptions that aren't correct in your post Worker.
The voters didn't have any say on the fence or gym. First, most of the fence was installed as part of a city project. Back when we had a paper, many of these things got reported and eliminated the confusion. I remember reading that the city wanted that fence to keep students moving to the lit crosswalk. I believe Joe Juneau was the initiator of that project.
The gym? I think that was part of the stimulus money package if I'm not mistaken. However, that may have been some type of building bonds.
Our high school has no where near 5 or 5 vice principals. Look at the web site. You have a principal and three assistants I believe.
Yes, I remember being in school when we only had a principal and an assistant and huge population. Of course I don't remember drugs, beatings, guns, etc.... being in school back then either.
I can't explain any better about this money not going into salaries. Have you read the full proposal? If not, take a minute to do so. It probably says in more clearly than I have.
I believe you're right too that most folks, including you, do want to see what is right for our kids. Give them a yes vote. Take a chance and if I'm wrong, you can say I told you so Opie/
