This is it, folks...this is the problem. Selfishness. Very well said, machine_easy2.
For Pete's sake. These are children. The function of recess is for these young minds and bodies to take a break, give them time to exercise body and mind...heck, we all do, no matter what age. To instill such nonsense on a child in this idea of demanding them to suspend focusing on fun, socialization and exercise to instead focus on watching for someone signalling them breaches the necessity of such a much needed and necessary function.
The people who thought of this and support it are almost the same type of minds that ran Nazi concentration camps, IMO. It's insane, even cruel...and you people should organize and do some serious research or consult a competent child psychologist to see if my thoughts have any merit. I'd be willing to bet they do. I'm shocked beyond having any sympathy for people who would instill such a thing on children...even if this incident or any others hadn't happened at all. Shame on them...and shame on you if you don't do something about it. I don't think the people who instilled this nonsense are cruel or hateful towards children...they've simply put common sense aside because of something else...something selfish. Because of that they've become incompetent in proper stewardship in their roles in the proper function in the education of children.
