I really don't care that they lose their jobs. I wouldn't care if they all went to a different district and pulled in 10 figures. I just don't want to hear about them needing their jobs saved when they are counterproductive in the process.

I seem to remember an issue a few years ago in which certain band teachers were sending students out of the community for instruments, repairs, and the like. I remember that the school board had to issue a statement to parents in the band program about the documentation they were handing out to students advertising out of district business concerns.

So, not only do these pompous directors not pay into the tax base, they also encourage others to follow suit. Not exactly my idea of people we should go to bat for.

As far as building the band program, you do realize that they are an old organization right? They were there when I was in school and none of the current teachers were in their current positions. I don't know how you can say they built anything. Inherited perhaps.

As far as the cities these folks live in... How could one obtain this vital information? It's a secret technique called "ask someone a question and learn from their answer". We have 2 directors who live in Alton, one in Glen Carbon, and one in Belleville.
