Let's face it. None of us at our level have a clear understanding of the plan. Half of Congress passed the bill without voting on it and are now backpedaling on that action.
As for big corporations? Many of the businesses that are complaining about this act are small busienss, family owned and operated. They are now being told if they have employees who work over 30 hours that they must provide insurance. Many, as opposed to giving away more of their profit, are simply closing the doors. Is that fair?
Sure, we're all jealous of the CEO making millions. None of us like the fact that many big corporations left the U.S. to set up sweat shops in other nations just to save union wages.
Let's forget about them for a minute. The man who owns the three McDonald franchises here in town will now have to absorb more cost. He's being pushed into providing a bigger benefit for people who work for him that possess minimal skills. Not to mention the fact these same employees now want to be paid twelve bucks an hour to micro wave a frozen burger.
Where's it stop? When does the guy who took a risk to open a business get left to operate? Why does he or any other private enterprise or small business have to keep providing for people who can't or won't find a way to fend for themselves?
Someone said, why is the GOP balking at the plan when they don't even know the outcome? We do know the outcome. We've seen government funded healthcare in other countries fail and it will here. When the government pushes enough doctors out of practice, when enough businesses close their doors and put more people out of work, we'll all get it.
Again, I don't have all the answers. I just know that if you keep robbing the rich to give to the poor, the system will collapse. It's already begun.
