Emma winced slightly as Alyx spoke. Then, she sighed.

"I really can explain," she said quietly, pushing away the next slice of pizza that Carrie was urgently trying to push into her mouth.

Emma was feeling a little guilty for having dragged the other brats along with her into this mess. It was her who had bugged Ash to order the pizza, and then swiped Alyx's credit card for her when the pair had realised they didn't have money for take out. "We'll pay her back," she'd said at the time. "So we're technically borrowing, not stealing."

Then, she'd got carried away and nicked the didgeridoo too, as part of her Alyx disguise which had seemed like a very funny and good idea in the moment. She felt a bit bad for abandoning the didge in the bush as she'd done; she wouldn't like it if someone took one of her instruments and treated it so carelessly.

The entire explanation tumbled out.

"The others were just trying to help me out," she confessed, watching Alyx with trepidation.

"Oh wait, there's one more thing," she added, suddenly remembering something else she'd done after she'd finished her story. She opened her bag and showed the contents to Alyx. "I took these too. I... was gonna give them back," she finished a little lamely.

In her bag was Alyx's implement collection.
