I'll agree with you whatusay, but I'd like to toss in a few things that crossed my mind. First of all, it isn't all families that are screwed up, and second, protesting may just be a part of growing up. Wasn't it Mark Twain who said, "When I was a boy of fourteen, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be twenty-one, I was astonished at how much he had learned in seven years."? Remember the anti-establishment protests of the 60's? But again, times have changed thanks to political correctness and taking away the right of teachers to discipline students.
