Bus problems on the first day of schoolArchived Message

I'm not new here but it is my first time to make a comment. Someone told me that our school buses are used in another district besides Granite City. Is this true?
I have heard three stories of kids, little kids, being over two hours late getting home. My neighbors were frantic when their first grader had not been dropped off by four thirty. Finally the bus delivered that child at 5:39, two and a half hours on the school bus.
I would also like to ask if anyone finds it strange that the Meet The Teacher night for the first and second grade classes was scheduled after the start of school instead of before school This doesn't make any sense to me. It's these younger students who need the meet and greet before school starts since the older students are much more familiar with things. No emergency cards on hand to contact parents, principals and teachers not knowing what buses kids were put on. This whole process needs to be rethought out.
I hope things smooth out quickly because if it were my child on a bus for over two and a half hours I don't know what I would do.
