" The biggest problem of all is not the inability of a school system to provide a pupils exact GPS coordinates at any given moment, while in their care." I never suggested what you are saying, in the first place. What I did suggest was, the I.D. scan would be for entering and exiting the bus only. That would allow the district to know what children scanned onto what bus, and what children scanned off the bus at which location along with a time stamp. No matter how much you attempt to twist my words or make me look foolish for wanting a better plan or system in place, you are wasting your time. You are missing the point still. I can handle a late bus now and then, these things are going to happen. I can handle a bus driver missing a bus stop now and then, these things are going to happen, especially at the beginning of a school year. What I can not handle and will not accept is, a child or children being lost in the city while those that are in charge of them have no idea where they may be. The school did not know if some of the children were ever put on a bus, and if so, what bus. They didn't know if the children had exited the bus at the wrong location, or if the children were still riding the bus hours past the times they should have been home. If an I.D. scanning system were in place, or some other method of tracking this information, even if manually, the schools would have known exactly what child had been dropped off, and at what location and the time of the drop off. Or if the child ever boarded the bus in the first place. I do NOT require the school district to be able to, as you put it "provide a pupils exact GPS coordinates at any given moment, while in their care." You are being sarcastic and a little over dramatic with that statement. But, as I stated above, this problem does not and can not hit home with you since you have never been a parent.
