I would guess there are systems in place that allow on board communications between the busses and the district. If not, there should be. It's been about 20 years since I've been on a school bus, (bound for a school), but the ones I rode on, always had something like a cb radio, and video camera. I'm sure they have the same, or better, now. A missing child is one of the scariest things that a parent can go through. It's why we have things like Amber alerts now. Machine, if you don't get that, you're just plain ignorant. I understand it OP, what I don't understand is why my phone goes off at 3am because some kid went missing 300 miles from my house, a few hours before. We still do all sorts misguided attempts at child safety, like car seats from 3-7 even though just a seatbelt is safer. You don't make policy based in emotion. (period). Thats where most policy regarding kids is rooted.
