60 percent of Granite City are low income, now middle class are facing lay offs as for my family we are cutting our losses and moving out as fast as we can. My husband has worked for the mill for more than 20 years the sacrifices and hard work these men and women do is much harder work than a school teacher. Many die right before they retire because of their bodies pay the price of swing shift and hard labor but teachers in this town get paid more than them. This school district lacks empathy, and lacks social skills, they are town bullies i almost committed suicide because of what they did to me and my son and they dont deserve what they are paid now. I would vote NO and if there were a box that said HELL NO I would double check it. This increase is not for the children check the list of soon to be retirements Brad Eavenson the gym boy, Dennis Burnett sp finance department Gail, Kathy all district office. This school district is so crooked even Schnucks in Edwardsville has stopped their gossip to talk about Granite City School district no one trusts them except their employees.
