That's what I am talking about. I know someone also who actually quit 2 jobs, went thru mediation at unemployment office and has now been on the dole going on his second year. My family went thru and survived the 6 mnth lay-off at US Steel. All I was able to do was pay bills and drain the savings account when something broke down. Thanks to legislative acts, he is now going to get it for another year, probably longer. He has a job under the table working for cash. Get this, in his spare time, he has taken up reading. So he now goes to the big book stores, Borders and Barnes and Nobles, and is buying, not borrowing books! I love to read also, but I have a library card. There are so many people like that these days. He is a pompous a$$hole, albeit a well-read one.

I would like to hear from Opi on this topic. I have lived in Pontoon Beach for 11 years now, and I am sad to say that my real estate taxes have better than doubled. My neighborhood cannot afford another TIF district, but unfortunately, I live in Timberlake, which is stone's throw from the next one. Please ask the owner what his intentions are. When I spoke to him a couple of years ago trying to get the price per acre, he said it is set up for retail, which translated to an increased tax burden to residents. It ain't fair!
