Sure, being a charge nurse for five years will help prepare one to do anesthesia.
But actually doing anesthesia will prepare you even better.
An analogy for you: jumping rope does translate over into improved boxing skills, such as increasing cardiovascular fitness and improving coordination. But you know what translates into better boxing skills to a much greater degree?
Actually boxing.
Yeah, I do call a little BS on "nurses know how to critically think while other allied health providers do not." Nurses know more of the rationale for performing certain tasks, but they lack the didactic training to actually know "why".
