I respect your honesty but in reaality why are you bringing up independent practice when you already know that the AA-C profession can not practice independently. I'm talking about in the ACT Modle only, again if you were working at a Medical Center Hospital that is a Level One Trauma Center inculding Transplants Heart/Liver and your Anesthesia Dept. just started hiring AA-Cs to your staff pool working with CRNAs doing all type of cases in the ACT modle.

Remember there are two CRNAs position open for Heart/Liver Transplant you have 15 CRNAs on staff 3weeks as gone by and you still can't fill the two CRNAs position. You know of two Anesthetists(AA-C)one who do Heart Transplant and the other who do Liver Transplant one with 8 years of experience the other with 6 years of experience.

Would you welcome them(AA-C)on to your staff as a team player in the ACT Modle YES or NO ?... If the answer is NO I would like to know WHY NOT ?

And why do you have a problem with the AA-Cs Master's ?...As I said before The AA-C Master program is Co-Directed taught&trained by a Board Certified Anesthesiologist(MDA). When AA-Cs start there clinical rotation there precptors are Anesthesia Residents(MD)and Anesthesiologist Assistant Anesthetist(AA-C).

I really believe it is FEAR! as Dave J(CRNA) mention your fellow CRNAs colleagues(not you in general)see AA-Cs as a threat especially in the ACT Modle. It's time to learn how to adapt in reality AA-Cs are not going anywhere. Why is that so hard to except ?...It's not about YOU! or your title It's about the PATIENT ALL WAYS FIRST PRIORITY. AA-Cs are here to work as a TEAM! to help fill in the gaps of the Aneshtesia shortage we have across the U.S. we need more AA-Cs in other states to help with this crisis.
