The issue over AA's is not the clinical competence, but of the political agenda behind the expansion of the AA practice. If AA could practice independently then the ASA would not support them, There is a need for more providers but I do not see the ASA stepping up for the proven most flexible numerous provider available. Why? because CRNA's do not want to be a means of transferring money form the insurance company to the physician. It is all about the Benjamin's and as soon as everyone realizes it then we will all be happier.
