Well said graham I couldn't have said it any better. My problem with the vast majority of CRNAs on here and across the nation not all CRNAs think like this. I don't hate CRNAs It's to strong of a word I'm not a hateful person.

My dislike for the vast majority of CRNAs is they feel they are Superior or have something to prove toward AA-Cs just because their law allows them to practice independently if they chose.

When in reality the vast majority CRNAs(80%-90%) practice with in the ACT model just as the AA-Cs(100%)do. Just because their law allows them(CRNA) to practice independently dose not mean their better than AA-Cs in any way.

I guarantee you If a CRNA and AA-C both were deployed over sea to Iraq with the limit MDAs over seas and they had massive Traumas(casualties) the Head MDA instructs that they will use both Anesthetist independently CRNAs/AA-Cs when it comes to the military then what could a CRNA say ?

Again I assure you a AA-C could and can work independently if their law allows them to. The only difference is in the practice of the AA-C profession they can not be independent that's all. However In the military things are done and run differently they can and will use AA-Cs independently if they see fit to especially when patients life are at stake and with the the strong Pre-Med Education and Intense Clinical Skills back ground AA-Cs have.

Meaning if that's the case then the answer would be yes AA-Cs are equal to an CRNA. I read in an article of the ASA news letter it was interesting to see that AAs were acknowledge in the report along with the CRNAs. in this particular article it mention who would be ultimately seeing the care of critical combat soldiers in the O.R.s in the war zone it mention AAs, CRNAs, and PA-Cs. AA-Cs are gaining ground It's called Team Concept and Respect this is why MDAs are recruiting and supporting more AA-Cs in the ACT model.

When I find this particular article I will post it on here until then can't we all just get a lone and be a TEAM ? CRNAs/AA-Cs or AA-Cs/CRNAs sincerely.
