Hi, true to a degree but some of the postings on here as well as other articles I have read, the vast majority of your CRNAs colleagues not all have always throw the NO ICU CRITICAL CARE EXPERIENCE towards the AA-C profession. When in reality a lot of AA-Cs do have ICU/O.R. critical care experience as Allied Health Care Professionals(AHP).

If you would read my last Subject posting it says RESPECT from the AA-Cs as ALLIED HEALTH PROFESSION. If you would take the time and read it you will see that each Allied Health Care Professionals have a lot of critical care ICU/O.R. experience.

My question to you stanley Kristiansen...#1.Do you dislike or hate AA-Cs ?...#2.Have you ever met or worked with an AA-C before you went into independent practice ?...The hospital you worked at did they have on staff both Anesthetists CRNAs/AA-Cs in the ACT Model ?...#3.Would you be willing to recruit AA-Cs at your hospital if you had the opportunity ?...If you could not fill the CRNA position and you knew of an associate that told you that he/she was a Anesthetist(AA-C)and he/she told you that they do Hearts, Vascular, Thoracic, CABs, & AAAs.

Keep in mind your hospital hires both Anesthetists CRNAs/AA-Cs as of January 2008 because 1.Your ANES, DEPT. has a shortage of CRNAs cases are being cancelled or push back because of the lack of anesthesia providers mainly CRNAs. or the Volume of patient load is increasing. 2.The MDAs wants to recruit AA-Cs on staff to help elevate the shortage and stress of the MDAs and other CRNAs on staff because of the patient load. What's the problem ?...Is it FEAR!

Would you welcome AA-Cs to your staff pool at your hospital, YES or NO ? if the answer is No I would like to know why ?...Remember AA-Cs do the same exact cases that any CRNA do in the ACT Model ALL TYPES OF SURGERIES.

Remember AA-Cs have a Master Degree with Pre-Med("Hard Science")Co-Directed taught and trained by Board Certified Anesthesiologist(MDA).The majority of AA-Cs do have Health Care back ground as well as critical care experience ICU/O.R..Including nurses(BSN)that function as a Anesthetist(AA-CRN). He/she chose to go to AA school instead of CRNA school doing the same job.

#1.Joy Nice AA-CRN,MMSc(Master of Medical Science in Anesthesiology and Patient Monitoring).

#2.Guy Law AA-C,MHSc(Master of Health Science in Anesthesiology).

#3.Mary lamb AA-C,MSA(Master of Science in Anesthesiology).

#4.Tim Know AA-C,MMSc(Master of Medical Science in Anesthesiology and Patient Monitoring).

Three different Master Degrees in Anesthesiology as an AA-C. So why can't your president of the AANA RESPECT or EXCEPT THE AA-Cs as Mid level Anesthesia Providers ?...Medicare&Medicaid recognizes AA-Cs. Some of your own BSN(Nurses)colleagues that once worked with you in ICU are AA-CRN(Anesthetist).
