Lloyd, I assume VL&A in Chicago was like Abercrombie and Fitch in New York. The last abode of A&F was a building at 45th and Madison in Manhattan that went at least seven floors and had a different department on each floor. I never went past the seventh because that's where the guns were. I'm sure VL&A sold a little bit of everything. The April 26, 1958 Saturday Evening Post cover is a wonderful color painting of the fishing department of the New York Abercrombie and Fitch store, probably quite similar to the pre war VL&A fishing department.
