It would seem that VL&A dealt in more then just fine guns. I have a very nice little Goodwin Granger Special fly rod (GS7632) which I suspect dates from the 1930s (definitely pre-WWII) that has a very-well preserved little gold sticker on the rod tube that says "VL&A, just for sport" in red letters. The VL&A logo is an oblong red ball with the white VL&A letters stylistically interwoven inside it. If only guns and old bamboo fly rods could talk....
