Recently received my "factory" letter on an L.C. Smith I acquired some time ago. Started in Feb 1926, it wasn't finished until Aug of that year. Then it went into storage for a year and half until being shipped in April 1928. Finally sold to V.L. & A. Sounds like a store or some other kind of commercial activity. Anyone out there know what V.L. & A. might stand for? A Google search did not turn up any match.
p.s. the gun, by the way, is a Featherweight in 12 ga., 28" barrels, beavertail forend, ejectors, but Field Grade. Nice shooter, I can tell you that.
