"As for the salaries here? They're just as high elsewhere." That still does not make it right. It is this mind set that has drained the entire state into the mess it is in today. "Should cuts be made before kids programs are eliminated? Yes they should in a perfect world but we aren't in one." It damned sure isn't a perfect world, but what is wrong with leading by example? Digging your heels in and standing behind these salaries and policies with the district sinking further and further in debt is not the answer. I say the people should demand that the district set this example and show that these hard decisions can be made. Start by shaving 10's of thousands off the salaries and renegotiate contracts. Clean up the district before you ask for more money from us so all the district employees can keep up their lifestyles. We are tired of picking up the tab while the district employees and administrator live on these kind of salaries. Let the district do the right thing for a change and lead by example and hopefully other districts will follow our lead.
