yes, I own quite a bit of property in town. myself and the bank own w lot more. Im not bragging or complaining, just talking to myself man to man. 30 years ago,i thought it would be a great idea to invest in property. lets see, the buy a nice home, keep it up well, let it rise in value at a min. of 7% a year, collect rent for 30 years, then sell them at age 62 to another young entremanure (pun intended). Well im 62, and my property value has risen just like the last batch of biscuits i tried to make. (the dogs ate em). my answer is, "I dont know yet", but rest assure, i will be voting. I just sold a property for 10 thousand. I paid 17 for it 30 years ago. Yes, I did collect rent for 30 years, dont know where the money is, wait, yes i do. i went for taxes, utilities, fix up cost, my penance for renting to bad people. (never rent to a preacher quoting scriptures). I sold one at a loss last year, kept the money in the bank until i had to take it out just recently to finish paying taxes. I love GC, dont want to move, people are hurting all over, not just here. The solution, dont have one, but I know one thing for sure,to change anything at all we will have to network to each other, become well imformed voters. The current rate of 18-30 percent of people voting at the polls is very discouraging. I thought real hard about running for the school board myself this time. I missed the deadline, but i wonder if I would be electable. I have been on both sides of the union issue, I retired from GM quite a few years ago, and I was an elected union official, on a small scale. I am not anti-union at all, we need to thank unions for a lot. The 40 hour work week, overtime, safety, the middle class, the suburbs, and a whole lot more. I operate a small business in town and have for the last 35 years, and currently im non union. I talked to the union back then, and they told me I would have to raise my prices big time. How many people would want me to do that? Common people like myself need to get more involved with government at all levels. Lets take a fun poll, how many of you would vote for me?, Believe me, lol, yu wont hurt my feelings.
