Wow. Sweet deals they've got, while most of us are still struggling in this economy. And, anyone really needs to ask where the cuts should start? Teaching salaries have come a long way since I went to school--and rightly so,I'm ok with that--but administration is WAY over the top for publicly funded positions. Yep, I think there are MANY equally qualified people out there who would be happy to make ten (or more) thousand less to do the same job. There IS job competition out there if the district really looked beyond their own "connections" to fill open positions. Sorry, but knowing what I know about past policies within the district, my vote is no. Thank you Shaggle, and Hard Core, for telling it like it really is. Please bring back the residency requirement, too. Those who don't live here really don't care, and more money won't make them care. They just take their pay back to the community they DO care about--where they live. Just my thoughts. We're all in a bad situation, here, but I'm already sacrificing enough to make my budget work, and I already pay enough taxes. Those who are paid so well to make their budget work should have seen this coming and dealt with it way before it got to this point--but that would have jeopardized their own salary, or "projects", so why would they do that?? Nope, I'm sick of the greed. Maybe we need an outside superintendent who can be independent of the politics and actually make some tough changes.
