Oh for Pete's sake John Culiberk...look up the boundaries of the designated TIF district, and you make the call. TIF FUNDS MUST BE SPENT WITHIN THE TIF DISTRICT, it's a law. Dayem, the last thing we need is another "glass is half empty, naysayer", sheesh, yeah there are a few businesses that have opened down there recently: BSR Bookstore Kayla's GC Cinema Coming soon: Pizzaria owned by a local gentleman, another shop in the old Illinois Power building. Not to mention existing businesses: Metalhedz Jerry's Cafeteria Barbara's Sales Omega Music Store Mingo's Garden Gate Tea Room Petri's Cafe Flamin' Dons Krumrey's Furniture Store Wagner's Sign Shop Burt's Rental Stopkotte's Skating Rink Custom Forms The Billiards Room (?) Auto Tech Prestige Printing And don't forget the Melting Pot Market and Spooktacular events. The new street scapes and street lamps, benches, planters. What have you done to further the revitalization? Have you even frequented any of the places I just mentioned, or do you just high tail it to Edwardsville or Fairview Heights for all your needs? I see the vision, sorry you don't.
